Great to see him doing so well after horrendous injury problems.

Still only 24, Matty Longstaff still with his best years ahead of him and looking forward to the 2025 MLS season which kicks off in February.

Sean Longstaff’s younger brother has returned to Tyneside during the MLS close season, with Toronoto FC media staff accompanying him, shooting this superb video (watch below).

This very professional video footage including some spectacular drone footage down at the coast at Tynemouth, Matty Longstaff having a refreshing dip in the North Sea.

Great to see Matty and Sean Longstaff interviewed together, obviously a special bond between them, plus other family members talking about the MLS star.

The Toronto FC filming crew accompanying Matty Longstaff to the recent 3-3 draw with Liverpool at St James’ Park.

Also in the footage, Matty Longstaff seen taking part in training sessions on Tyneside to keep him in shape during the break between seasons.

Interesting to see Jonjo Shelvey also taking part in sessions with the same coaches, so I am assuming he has kept a family home still in the region. In Turkey there is a two week Christmas break currently, however, when this footage was shot, it would have been earlier this month before then. Having checked, Jonjo Shelvey has only made two league starts this season for Eyupspor and hasn’t featured in a matchday squad since early November, so maybe he is recovering from an injury.

Anyway, well worth watching the footage below, as Matty Longstaff makes a happy return to Tyneside, after an uplifting first MLS season with Toronto FC.
