In today’s soccer let’s say that you work a lot on the mental aspects so the coach works a lot on this obviously with all the technical things on the field but the coach is excellent. He’s really good at this in working on our mentality. The goal is always to take the field and have fun because if you enjoy it, it means you are doing the right things and we always try to give 110% on the field which is what the coach asks of us. He says if we have that humility and eagerness required to win games everything becomes easier.

Nicolo Rovella & Matteo Guendouzi

The captain also hailed the midfield partnership of Nicolo Rovella and Matteo Guendouzi while explaining his special role in Baroni’s system.

The three of us have something different and let’s say that we are very balanced. As for myself, this season, I have more of a free role. Baroni gives me so much freedom to stay either stay wide or come inside so I really like it. Guendouzi and Rovella are both having a fantastic season too.

Zaccagni believes Lazio have what it takes to go far in all competitions, but prefers to avoid setting clear objectives.

We do not set limits as we are aware that we can be a strong team that can achieve great goals but our focus is always on the next match. Yes, we are on a very positive path and it takes a lot of small details, starting with the work of the club to the work of the technical staff and the work of the medical staff.
