Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt is reportedly waiting for an offer from Barcelona.

The 19-year-old is wanted all over Europe and has been linked with Juventus, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain in recent months.

According to Mundo Deportivo, though, he will wait until he hears Barça’s offer before deciding on his future.

A talented centre-back, De Ligt has already won 13 caps for the Netherlands. He started the Europa League final before turning 18 and has already made 94 appearances for the Ajax first team.

Now, there is a feeling it is time to move on to continue his progression. And the fact he is waiting to hear Barcelona’s offer can only be good news for the LaLiga leaders.

Ajax team-mate Frenkie de Jong has already rejected Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain for a summer switch to Camp Nou.

A deal for the 21-year-old was struck last month, with Barcelona agreeing to pay an initial €75m for the midfielder.

For now, De Ligt and De Jong will both see out the season with Ajax. They’ll both get a taste of Spain soon enough, with the Dutch giants facing Real Madrid in the Champions League round of 16.
