Matthijs de Ligt 'verbally agrees' to join Bayern Munich

Matthijs de Ligt has ‘verbally agreed’ to join Bayern Munich from Juventus this summer.

That is according to Sport and Sky Germany, who have reported that the Dutch defender has his heart set on a move to the Allianz Arena with his future in Italy up in the air.

The 22-year-old has been linked with a move to Chelsea in recent days but the report states that he has been convinced by the proposals put forward by Bayern head coach Julian Nagelsmann and sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić.

It is believed De Ligt preferred a move to Munich before joining Juventus from Ajax in 2019.

At this stage transfer negotiations are yet to take place but discussions are set to take place imminently.
