A successful start to the World Cup for Matthijs de Ligt! The FC Bayern centre-back and the Dutch national team enjoyed a 2-0 win over Senegal in their opener on Monday. In what was a hotly contested game for a long time, PSV Eindhoven's Cody Gakpo broke the deadlock for the Netherlands in the 84th minute. Ajax's Davy Klaassen then made sure of the three points in added time.
