Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzić has ruled out a January move for Mats Hummels.
The German defender has frequently found himself on the bench lately and there has been talk that he could look to leave the Bundesliga champions.
However, Salihamidzić rubbished those claims on Saturday.
“I’m having absolutely no thoughts about a transfer,” said the sporting director ahead of Bayern’s 4-0 win over Hannover.
Hummels came into the side on Saturday, replacing Jérôme Boateng in defence.
It was the former Dortmund captain’s first start for Bayern since defeat in Dortmund a month ago.
“Mats is in our squad like normal,” Salihamidzić insisted.
“He’s a Germany international, so right now we won’t even consider selling him. I can rule out that he is leaving us in the winter.
“It’s the case that, when you play for Bayern Munich, you must expect to sometimes sit on the bench.
“He has not played for sometimes, he was also ill, and today the coach has shown trust in him.”
Hummels did feature as a substitute in the dying moments of a 3-3 draw against Düsseldorf at the end of November but has otherwise watched on from the bench as Boateng has been partnered by fellow German international Niklas Süle.
Bayern’s win on Saturday was their third in a row in the Bundesliga but they remain nine points behind league leaders Dortmund, who beat Werder Bremen 2-1 to extend their own winning run to six games.
