Despite a myriad of rumours that occur seemingly every day, San Jose Earthquakes manager Matías Almeyda, formerly of Chivas, has revealed that he has yet to hear from any club over his availability.
Almeyda was also linked to a move to the Mexican National Team before Tata Martino eventually took over.
“Anyone who is in the world of football can say that the one who would be selling is me and I am not selling myself, I am far from that,” he said in his pre-match press conference.
“Many people can do it on purpose so that other clubs do not call me and others do it because they want to see me back in Mexican football because they know the affection and love I have for Liga MX.
“So far, no one has had contact with me.”
Almeyda has had very little success in San Jose, leading the Earthquakes to a pair of eighth-placed finishes in the West before finishing ninth last season.
