Arsenal are “investigating” a move for Bayern Munich centre-forward Mathys Tel in the January transfer window, according to Miguel Delaney.

It is an open secret that the Gunners are looking to bolster their forward department following the injury to Gabriel Jesus, and Tel has become a target for them.

The 19-year-old has stated his intention to leave the German club and move elsewhere, where he will be getting regular games.

He is now “pushing” to leave Bayern in the January window. Chelsea are also interested in securing his signature, but they may struggle to tempt him to move to Stamford Bridge.

Tel wants to join a club where he will be getting valuable game time, and he feels that it won’t be possible if he moves to Chelsea because they have an abundance of players in the forward position.

Writing for The Independent, Delaney notes that the player is “very open” to joining Arsenal.

What Arsenal must try is to reach an agreement with Bayern over signing him on loan with an option to buy him next summer. Many clubs will lose interest if it is just a loan deal without having the option to sign him permanently.

Tel is a fantastic young talent. He is two-footed and can play across the forward line. He has the ability to move the ball with pace and is also considered to be a good finisher.

Mikel Arteta loves to work with young talents and help them develop, and Arsenal must find a way to convince Bayern to sell the highly-rated young attacker.

Arsenal are also pursuing a deal for Rosenborg’s Sverre Halseth Nypan, but they face strong competition from Premier League rivals Aston Villa.

Tel would be a great addition to the Arsenal side, but getting him on board could be tricky.
