According to Florian Plettenberg, Mathys Tel (18) has decided to stay at Bayern Munich this winter and rejected the opportunity of a loan move in the January transfer window. The 18-year-old believes his development will be best served by staying at the Allianz Arena this winter.

Tel has decided to stay in Munich despite many clubs showing interest in a loan move for the former Rennes striker. Manchester United are one of many clubs who have enquired about the possibility of a loan move, Florian Plettenberg reports. However, this latest development removes any chance of a loan to Old Trafford or anywhere else in the January transfer window.

Mathys Tel was targeted by Eintracht Frankfurt as a potential replacement for Randal Kolo Muani in the summer transfer window, but no move materialised. The France youth international believes that under the management of Tuchel, more minutes will arrive later in the season with the Bundesliga champions. Tel is also relishing the opportunity to learn from England captain Harry Kane in the Bayern Munich attack.
