Mathias Pogba has been released from prison, as confirmed by his lawyer Yassine Bouzrou in an interview with Le Parisien and BFMTV. The Frenchman saw a previous attempt to secure freedom denied in early October.
Mathias Pogba, as well as three other suspects, were arrested back in September in relation to an extortion attempt involving Mathias’ brother Paul Pogba, who currently plays at Serie A side Juventus. Mathias left Villepinte prison on Friday morning his lawyer confirmed.
He is now released under judicial review, meaning that he will be prohibited from coming into contact with the other suspects accused of blackmail and extortion of Paul Pogba. Mathias is also prohibited from coming into contact with his mother, Yeo Moriba, and his brother Paul. He cannot leave the country and nor can he post on social media.
Whilst Paul Pogba filed a complaint for extortion carried out by an organised gang in Turin back in July, the affair hit the headlines in September when Mathias released a series of social media videos with numerous claims, including that his brother had used a witch doctor to put a curse on Kylian Mbappé.
