Last week, manager Miguel Herrera seemingly ruled out any additional summer transfers after he claimed he was happy with his team for the upcoming 2019 Apertura campaign.
However, that may all change now as midfielder Mateus Uribe has reportedly asked to leave the club.
Uribe had a phenomenal Copa America with Colombia, which has dramatically increased the possibility of his departure this summer.
The 28-year-old is now looking for an opportunity to play in Europe but América will reportedly play hardball and have dramatically increased their asking price.
Until a few months ago, the Eagles had priced the midfielder at $6m (€5m) when Boca Juniors showed interest.
After his fantastic run with Colombia this summer, América are now demanding $15m (€13.25m) for the player they signed from Atlético Nacional two summers ago.
With Edson Álvarez also rumoured to be heading over to Europe this summer, Herrera and company may need to scramble before the season kicks off in three weeks time.
