Borussia Mönchengladbach head coach Gerardo Seoane usually sends his side out in a 4-2-3-1 formation, making slight tweaks depending on the opposition and how a game is panning out. “Since playing Mönchengladbach twice early on in the first half of the season, their development has been outstanding,” said Eintracht coach Dino Toppmöller. “They have good patterns of play and are a really strong footballing side.”

Absentees

Tim Kleindienst (calf) and Alassane Pléa (muscular problems) are doubtful for Gladbach, while Franck Honorat, Rocco Reitz, Tobias Sippel and Yvandro Borges Sanches are definitely out. Eintracht must make do without Junior Dina Ebimbe (calf), Igor Matanovic (foot) and Robin Koch (shoulder).

Julian Weigl, who anchors Gladbach’s midfield, is among the best passers in the Bundesliga, with 91.51 per cent finding a team-mate this season. The 28-year-old, who has been at the club since summer 2023, has also won 57.87 per cent of his challenges, the second-highest quota in the team.   He has made 80 competitive appearances for the Foals to date, scoring three goals. Facts and figures

The Eagles are unbeaten in their last seven Bundesliga games against Gladbach, winning four and drawing three in what is their longest such streak against any current top-flight team.

After losing their first three games in 2025, Gladbach have won their last two to take their tally to 30 points from 20 matches, their best record at this stage of a season since 2020/21.

Frankfurt are enjoying their second-best Bundesliga campaign of all time with 38 points from 20 games. Still unbeaten in the Bundesliga since the turn of the year, they have 11 wins so far in 2024/25 – exactly the same amount as they managed in the entirety of last season.

Can Uzun’s goal against Wolfsburg was his third of the campaign as a supersub – the highest tally in the league. In recent years, Sebastien Haller is the only Eintracht player to score more goals off the bench (four) in a single season.
