Liverpool will welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers to Anfield on Sunday to conclude the 2021-22 Premier League campaign. The fixture will kick-off at 4:00pm BST.

The Reds are coming off a solid 2-1 victory over Southampton at St Mary's. Reds boss Jurgen Klopp was forced into nine changes on Tuesday night because of last weekend's FA Cup final. The German's key players went through extra-time.

However, Liverpool's reserves found a way to overcome the Saints.

Wolves on the other hand secured a 1-1 draw against Norwich City at the Molineux Stadium last weekend.

It was not a great result for Bruno Lage's team when you consider that the Canaries have already been relegated. But, that's how football goes sometimes.

Key Battle

Liverpool can still mathematically win the Premier League title, as they are only one-point behind league leaders Manchester City.

With that being the case, the key battle for the Reds against Wolves is to simply stay focused. Liverpool can only worry about winning the game.

They can't be focusing on the title because they will forget about the job at hand. The likes of Hwang Hee-Chan, Pedro Neto and Raul Jimenez are all more than capable of punishing the Reds if they are slightly off the pace.

Team News

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has implied that it is unlikely Mohamed Salah and Joe Gomez will be available for the clash against Wolves.

The Egyptian international picked up a muscle injury during the FA Cup final last weekend. Gomez on the other hand suffered an ankle injury against Southampton earlier this week.

In team news for Wolves, Max Kilman, Romain Saiss and Nelson Semedo are reportedly set to miss the fixture against Liverpool.

Previous Premier League Meeting

Liverpool narrowly defeated Wolves at the Molinuex Stadium back in December. The game looked bound to finish in a 0-0 draw.

However, Divock Origi stood up when it mattered most. The forward found the back of the net in stoppage time.

Klopp was thrilled with Origi post-match.

The German told the club's official website the following: "He is an incredible finisher – if we don’t know it at Liverpool, who should know it then? We saw that so often.

"How I said, it’s difficult to get 500 minutes a week in this team because of the players we have. But Divock Origi is an incredible football player.

"He is great in these moments, he doesn’t need a lot of run-up or time to find into a game, and especially not in this game today.

"It was his game, he could be Divock Origi 100 per cent: in and around the box, use your body, use your technique, finish the situations off.

"He was unlucky with the ball before I think, he was involved in a lot of good moments, he was a threat before he scored.

"These kinds of goals we see plenty of times in training and everywhere. Winning in the 95th minute is great, but when Div scores the goal it makes it even better, to be honest."

Prediction

Wolves are a decent side. There is a reason why they sit in eighth-place in the Premier League table.

So, Liverpool will have to play well if they are to defeat Wolves. In saying that, Klopp will be able to select a pretty strong side for the game, as most of his key players had a rest mid-week.

Those group of players have got the Reds challenging for the quadruple this season. Therefore, if Liverpool can stay focused, we are backing them to secure a final day victory.
