Premier League champions Manchester City travel to west London this weekend as they wrap up their campaign with a match against Brentford.

On Wednesday night, the Citizens visited the Amex Stadium, looking to continue their run of dominance as they took on the ever-impressive Brighton – who were hungry to cement a spot in European football next season.

Phil Foden opened the scoring early in the opening half for Manchester City as he received a pass from Erling Haaland, sending the ball into the net off of the foot of Jan Paul van Hecke, who was covering for an out-of-position Jason Steele.

The Seagulls’ hunger and quality showed shortly after, as Kaoru Mitoma nearly levelled the game as he carried the ball out of Ederson’s reach before it was disallowed due to handball.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side would find their way back into the game shortly before the half-time interval as Julio Enciso curled a shot into the top left side of the net, energising his side and the stadium alike.

Over the course of the remainder of the match, VAR would keep the game level, disallowing goals from Danny Welbeck and Erling Haaland.

On the other side of Sunday afternoon’s ticket sits Brentford, who come into the match off the back of a 1-3 away victory against Tottenham. A brace from Bryan Mbuemo and a solo strike from Yoane Wissa would help nullify an early goal from Harry Kane, helping secure yet another mid-table position for Thomas Frank’s squad.
