Manchester United faced off against Luton Town in the third round of the EFL Cup earlier today hoping to earn a victory on the road. The Red Devils dominated possession in the first half and managed to grab the lead in the 44th minute courtesy of Juan Mata’s penalty.

The home team gave a good account of themselves after the half-time interval but struggled to finish off their chances. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men finally managed to kill off the contest when Marcus Rashford scored with a controlled finish in the 88th minute. Mason Greenwood added another goal in injury-time as the match finished with the Mancunian giants securing a comfortable 3-0 win over the Bedfordshire outfit.

The Serbian midfielder shielded his backline well and retained possession effortlessly for his side at the centre of the park.

The Brazilian began the game brightly by playing some neat passes in the opposition half. However, he had an uneventful second 45 minutes.

The English playmaker tried to get involved but lacked the quality required to curve open the Luton defence. It was another lacklustre display from him tonight.

The ex-Ajax star showed a few glimpses of his brilliance but did not have a goal or an assist to show for his efforts.

The Spaniard rolled back the years and produced a brilliant performance during the match. He kept his composure to slot home the penalty and orchestrated some decent openings for his teammates in the final third.
