Massive moments on the horizon for Aston Villa

Aston Villa Playing important games late in the calendar year is all anyone can ask for. The team has done an excellent job of staying afloat for a higher spot in the Premier League while lasting through the later rounds of Champions League and the FA Cup.

The reward? There is an uptick of pressure on the side. Pressure, however, is a privilege. To be able to earn the opportunity to be in significant matches means being involved in discussions with the top clubs in the sport. It only comes by getting results more often than not, but on an increasing basis, Villa are proving to be entering the upper tier in the Prem and in Europe.

Depending on how the results fall, it could be difficult to say if not winning a trophy would be seen as a disappointment. Heading into 2024-2025, most would have undoubtedly taken the chance to progress to the CL semis and play at Wembley twice. While some points were dropped early on, the current form suggests a good final spot when the EPL is wrapped up for the season.

Potential Aston Villa endings to the year

Now, being on the verge of earning silverware, even the latest successes may come with something of a letdown if something isn't added to the trophy cabinet. Perhaps that is an issue for another day. Sitting here on the week of the first leg against PSG and a fixture against Southampton, it's hard to not get excited while also thinking about the overall assessment of Villa.

For now, Unai Emery appears to have a lot figured out with the proper support and backing that he will need to ensure future contention in multiple competitions moving forward. The side has done well. Truth be told, though, there are definite areas of improvement. This could easily mean even better, more complete performances on the pitch from this group in the final months. If that happens, Aston Villa may not need to worry about going trophyless.
