Massimiliano Allegri has thanked John Elkann, CEO of Juventus' holding company Exor, for confirming that he will remain as manager.

Rumours began to swirl about Allegri's immediate future at the Allianz Stadium after the club board, including Andrea Agnelli, resigned due to an ongoing investigation into the club's finances since 2019.

Juve are under scrutiny for reported mismanagement of bookkeeping.

Earlier on Tuesday, Elkann confirmed that Allegri would continue to lead the sporting side of the company: “Massimiliano Allegri remains the point of reference of the Juventus sporting area, we count on him and on the whole team to continue to win as they have shown to be able to do in recent games, keeping our objectives high on the field."

Allegri has since reacted to this statement with one of his own, thanking Elkann for his words and also thanking Agnelli and co. for their work at the club down the years.

“It is always very positive to feel the closeness of the shareholders and so I thank John Elkann for these words," he said.

“In these years of work, passion and victories, I have always been able to count on the support of Andrea Agnelli, to whom I am bound by a relationship of friendship, which will not be interrupted with the end of his presidency.

“Andrea and John are reference figures for the Juventus world, which must remain focused on the daily work on the pitch to obtain the results we all want.”
