Roma sporting director Frederic Massara made it clear that the Giallorossi are not intent on signing Jadon Sancho.
The Italian executive also touched upon the future of Lorenzo Pellegrini who is being linked with an exit from Roma.
“As soon as I arrived, I shared with Pellegrini and his agent my intention not to renew his contract,” he told Sky Sport before kick-off to Roma’s win over Bologna.
“We want to avoid losing the player for free, also because of Lorenzo’s own desire, we’re checking to see if there are any opportunities for him. We have eight days left, or the January transfer window.”
“Sancho is a strong player and has been linked to all the big Italian clubs, but it’s just a suggestion. I don’t think the conditions, and especially the motivation, are there to move forward with this negotiation,” added the Giallorossi sporting director.
“We know we need to complete the squad, and we’ll do so in line with the project we want to build. Gasperini’s arrival is aimed at creating value and competitiveness. The manager is extraordinary; he’s achieved unforgettable things in his previous roles, and we’re confident he can repeat them in Rome with a team of players to build on, primarily young players.”
