Mason Mount names his most memorable World Cup moment | OneFootball

It’s crazy to think it’s already been 4 and a half years since the last World Cup. At that point, Mason Mount was a promising youngster – promising enough to get flown out to Russia with a couple of other future stars to watch some games – but still wasn’t yet a senior Chelsea player.

The years since have changed all that, and he’s become a regular for England as well as Chelsea since then.

With his first World Cup now just a couple of months away, the Chelsea official website asked him about his top memorable moment from a tournament gone by.

His choice was one that Chelsea and England fans could never forget – the disallowed Frank Lampard goal against Germany in 2010 that led to the introduction of goalline technology.

“It wasn’t actually a goal in the end but the Lamps shot against Germany that didn’t count. I was watching that game live and I can feel the frustration still now because everybody knew it was a goal but they didn’t give it.”

We all remember that moment so well, it’s painful to this day.

Let’s hope this time there’s a Mount memorable moment with a sweeter ending than the one he gave.
