Mason Mount must get season started in important game against Malmo | OneFootball

After losing to Juventus, Chelsea have to get their Champions League campaign up and running tonight with a win against Malmo.

Thomas Tuchel knows it, and has picked an exceptionally strong side to take on the Swedes.

Much like Chelsea, Mason Mount has to get his season started tonight. He’s made a few starts and looked pretty ineffective. He was rested for the game against Brentford at the weekend after the grind of England duty, and should be fresh tonight.

It’s a big vote of confidence from the manager to restore the midfielder to his first team, now Mount has to pay him back with a strong showing.

The setup suits him, with Timo Werner stretching the play and Romelu Lukaku occupying central defenders – but that puts a lot of emphasis on Mount to be creative with the ball at his feet.

This could be the night his season gets up and running.
