According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount remains a ‘priority target’ for Liverpool following links to Bayern Munich’s Ryan Gravenberch.
Mount’s contract expires in the summer of 2024 and he reportedly rejected a contract proposal from the West London club last November just before the World Cup began.
The 24-year-old has scored three league goals this season whilst providing two assists in 24 appearances for the Blues.
Mount, who has been capped 36 times by England, has failed to replicate the form he showed last season which saw him pick up Chelsea’s Player of the Year award.
Chelsea appointed Frank Lampard as interim manager until the end of the season earlier this month after Graham Potter departed the club.
The Blues are expected to name a permanent boss in the summer and it remains to be seen whether that will impact Mount’s future.
Liverpool are currently languishing in eighth and their need for a midfield overhaul has become apparent throughout their lacklustre campaign.
