Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood will soon make a decision on his future as he has two major European clubs pursuing him.

Erik ten Hag’s side ideally want to sell the forward as soon as possible to continue funding their own busy summer plans.

Joshua Zirkzee flew into Manchester yesterday to complete his medical this morning and officially become United’s newest addition and first senior male signing in the Ineos era.

United are also in active discussions for Matthijs De Ligt, Jarrad Branthwaite and they have had a bid accepted for Leny Yoro.

Olympique de Marseille have struck an agreement with Manchester United over a €31.6million fee for the forward but that matter has been complicated by public outcry from the mayor of the French city over a potential deal.

It had seemed S.S Lazio were out of the race but they have reportedly not given up hope on a deal and are ready to up their bid to €25 million if Greenwood signals he wants to move to Rome.

Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport report that “Greenwood decides (who he will join) and will decide quickly. Today, maybe tomorrow. Everyone is on alert.”

Marseille are described to be “on pole” as they already have an agreement with United but Lazio “dream of overtaking” and completing the hijacking of the deal.

It is said that the Ligue 1 side’s coach Roberto De Zerbi “awaits him with open arms and calls him almost daily to convince him to sign.”

The former Brighton boss has already said should be sign, he would be treated like one of his sons.

The Italian paper argues that “Greenwood knows that he would be welcomed differently at Lazio and that Lotito is ready to give him a throne all to himself. The number 10 shirt is also at stake, it is free, although Zaccagni could take it.”

“These are decisive hours, within the week the Greenwood soap opera will be resolved, barring any surprises.”

United will likely be hoping that the Englishman not only hurries up and makes his choice but also chooses Marseille as they currently have the best financial package on offer for the Red Devils to put towards their own summer plans.
