Manchester United loanee Mason Greenwood endured a frustrating match as his side Getafe were held to a goalless stalemate by Rayo Vallecano.
In truth, Jose Bordalas’ men didn’t offer much in terms of attacking threat. They didn’t manage even one shot on target across both halves.
The result has left Getafe in ninth place in La Liga standings, five points adrift of eight-placed Valencia who also have a game in hand.
Greenwood started on the right side of a 4-41-1 formation.
During the 90 minutes included added time that he was on the pitch, the Carrington academy graduate was limited to just 37 touches of the ball.
He also attempted only 19 passes and found his teammates with 15 of these, managing a pass completion rate of 79%. He wasn’t able to make a key pass.
Greenwood tried to find his intended target with one cross and one long ball. He was unsuccessful both times and was thwarted by the Rayo Vallecano players.
The England international fired just one shot at Stole Dimitrievski’s goal but he couldn’t find the target and the goalkeeper was not required to swing into action. Greenwood saw another of his shots blocked by a rival star.
He was a bit better defensively. The forward delved into nine ground duels and came out on top on four occasions. He was not required to contest any challenges aerially. The player did not have a tackle or interception to his name
Greenwood also drew in two fouls from the opposition.
He embarked on four dribbles and completed half of them.

Greenwood and Getafe will get a chance to get back to winning ways when they next face Real Sociedad in a week’s time in front of their Coliseum home support.
