Getafe star Mason Greenwood was on Sunday the victim of a series of abusive chants, during his side’s meeting with Real Sociedad.
José Bordalás’ Getafe marked their return to La Liga action a short time ago.
Welcoming the aforementioned Real Sociedad to Madrid, the Azulones ultimately battled their way to a share of the spoils, in a 1-1 stalemate.
As much came after Ander Barrenetxea’s opener inside the quarter of an hour-mark was cancelled out decisively by Óscar Rodríguez.
Wide-man Greenwood, meanwhile, featured from the off once more, and played a key role in his side’s eventual point, in laying on teammate Rodríguez’s equaliser.
En route to as much, however, the on-loan Manchester United man, as alluded to above, was also subjected to heavy abuse on the part of the visiting crowd.
As revealed by COPE, heard throughout proceedings at the Estadio Coliseum were chants of “Greenwood die” and “Greenwood rapist”.
The incidents will be included in the official match report forwarded to La Liga.
