Mary Earps will captain the Lionesses in Friday night's must-win Nations League match against the Netherlands at Wembley.

England head coach Sarina Wiegman confirmed on Thursday morning that the experienced Manchester United goalkeeper will skipper the side in the absence of injured Chelsea defender Millie Bright, who has been standing in for Arsenal midfielder Leah Williamson.

The Lionesses must win both of their remaining Nations League fixtures, against the Dutch and then away versus Scotland at Hampden Park on Tuesday evening, and hope Belgium drop points to reach the finals of the tournament and keep alive their hopes of Olympic qualification for Team GB in Paris next year.

Midfielder Keira Walsh says England want to “put things right” on Friday night, after a costly 3-2 defeat by Belgium in their previous Nations League match in Leuven in October.

Barcelona's Walsh said: “We know it’s a must-win, but I’m hoping that we can show the resilient side to us.”
