Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Marvin Johnson has taken to Instagram to share a message with the club’s supporters ahead of his side’s upcoming clashes in League One.

The Owls were unable to back up their recent victories over Milton Keynes Dons and Crewe Alexandra in their meeting with Wycombe Wanderers at the weekend as they suffered a 1-0 defeat at Adams Park.

Jordan Obita netted what turned out to be the winning goal for the Chairboys in the second-half of this clash.

After being deployed as a centre-back against Crewe, Johnson featured on the left-hand side of the pitch during his side’s showdown with Wycombe.

The 31-year-old will be hoping to keep his place in the side for tomorrow’s clash with Fleetwood Town.

Having slipped out of the play-off places as a result of their setback on Saturday, Wednesday will move back into the top-six if they avoid defeat at Highbury Stadium.

Following this fixture, the Owls are set to host Portsmouth at Hillsborough on the final day of the regular season.

Ahead of these two season-defining fixtures, Johnson has decided to share a message on Instagram.

The former Middlesbrough man posted: “2 big games, let’s go.”

The Verdict

Wednesday would have been extremely disappointed by the fact that they were unable to secure a positive result in their recent meeting with Wycombe as the pressure is now on to respond to this defeat.

Whereas Owls manager Darren Moore may opt to make some changes to his team for their showdown with Fleetwood, it would be somewhat of a shock if Johnson isn’t named in the club’s starting eleven.

During the 37 appearances that he has made in the third-tier for the Owls, Johnson has provided a respectable total of eight direct goal contributions at this level.
