Aston Villa locked horns with Tottenham Hotspur at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier today as they hoped to earn a good result on the road in the Premier League. The Villans made a decent start to the game but conceded the opening goal in the 22nd minute when Giovani Lo Celso found the back of the net. Pau Torres equalised for the West Midlands club in the latter stages of the first half as Unai Emery’s men went into the half-time break with a 1-1 scoreline.

Ollie Watkins gave Aston Villa the lead in the 61st minute with a good early finish. The Villans hung on to their narrow advantage and earned a 2-1 win away from home.

LB: Lucas Digne – 7/10

The French full-back was a positive influence at both ends of the field.

RM: Matty Cash – 6/10

He was solid when defending inside his half but was replaced at half-time.

CM: Boubacar Kamara – 7/10

Kamara controlled the game well and offered adequate protection for his teammates at the back.

CM: Douglas Luiz – 8/10

Luiz anchored the midfield well and made two key chances in the opponent’s half. He ended the game with an assist to his name.

LM: John McGinn – 7/10

He worked his socks off at both ends of the pitch and was accurate with his passing.

ST: Moussa Diaby – 6.5/10

Diaby had two bright moments in the game and was substituted at half-time.

Watkins led the line well and managed to score the winning goal for his team with a great finish just after the hour mark.
