Newcastle goalkeeper Martin Dúbravka has joked that his girlfriend is close to becoming his new personal coach during self-isolation.
Dúbravka suffered a knee injury in March and was expected to miss one month of action, but that scope has now changed following the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
And the 31-year-old insists he is getting plenty of help from family members as he continues rehabilitation.
“She will soon be kicking and throwing balls at me in the garden” he revealed during a video call on Friday.
‘The first two weeks were difficult because I couldn’t do much. I had a bandage on my knee and had to stay on the couch and rest.
“But now I remind myself by putting the gloves on my hands. It reminds me I am still a footballer.
“I’m watching games back now from the season, studying what we can do better. There is always a chance to improve.”
