Marseille’s Leonardo Balerdi opens to Roma transfer

Roma have a new transfer target to further boost their defense this summer.

Argentine defender Leonardo Balerdi of Olympique de Marseille is said to be on top of Roma’s transfer shortlist.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Balerdi has opened to a transfer to the Italian capital, having already spoken with Roma sporting director Florent Ghisolfi who knows him well.

Balerdi is 26 years old and has vast experience as Marseille’s captain.

His contract runs out in 2028 and his pricetag is currently estimated at 20 million euros.

Roma were hoping to secure his arrival already in January but Marseille declined. The reunion will thus take place in all likelihood in the summer.
