According to Foot Mercato, Olympique de Marseille are in the market for three full-backs this summer and are notably interested in Fulham’s Antonee Robinson (25).
Whilst the managerial situation at Marseille looks to be resolved soon, with the arrival of Marcelino, Les Phocéens are now making steps in the transfer market. Igor Tudor deployed a 3-5-2, but Marcelino prefers a 4-4-2. As a result, the club are looking to buy as many as three full-backs this summer.
Nuno Tavares and Issa Kaboré have both left following the expiry of their loan deals, Sead Kolasinac is yet to extend his contract, whilst it is unclear what role Jonathan Clauss, an attack-minded wing-back, will have in Marcelino’s flat back-four.
Marseille are in the market for left-backs and right-backs. At left-back, the club are interested in Robinson, a guaranteed starter in a Fulham side that exceeded expectations last season following their promotion back to the Premier League. However, a move for the USMNT international is not expected to be successful.
Robinson will likely be an onerous option, there is considerable competition in the shape of Manchester City, AC Milan and Inter Milan, whilst Fulham are attempting to extend his current contract, which is due to expire next summer.
