According to L’Équipe, Olympique de Marseille are further widening their search for a new left-back, and are now considering a move for Angeliño (27), who is currently on loan at Galatasaray from Red Bull Leipzig.

The former Manchester City full-back is out of favour in Turkey. He was a guaranteed starter at the beginning of the season, featuring prominently in the league, as well as the Champions League. However, as Angeliño was set to reach the amount of games played required to make the move permanent for €6m, he was taken out of the team.

Angeliño hasn’t featured in the league since late October and hasn’t been included in a matchday squad since 20th December. The Spaniard could return to parent club RB Leipzig.

Marseille have enquired about Angeliño’s situation as they look to replace Renan Lodi, who joined Al-Hilal earlier in the transfer window. Stade Rennais’ Adrien Truffert, FC Nantes’ Quentin Merlin, and Nuno Tavares, currently on loan at Nottingham Forest from Arsenal, are all targets.
