According to Foot Mercato, discussions are still taking place between Olympique Marseille and FC Lorient to find a transfer agreement for Bamba Dieng (22).

The Marseille striker has reportedly indicated to Everton, who have also shown interest in him, that he prefers Lorient as he believes he will have more playing time and will be able to flourish under the guidance of coach Regis Le Bris.

Lorient and the player’s agents quickly reached a new agreement on personal terms, with a reduction in salary compared to the initial proposal.

On Marseille’s side president Pablo Longoria is open to possibility of selling Bamba Dieng without Terem Moffi moving in the other direction.

The player is still in Lorient whilst an agreement is trying to be reached over what Foot Mercato report as a €10m deal – having already undergone a medical in Brittany.

Les Merlus are convinced by the player’s qualities despite his knee problem which saw a deadline day move to Nice in September fall through.
