Marseille set to rival Chelsea in race to sign Filip Jörgensen | OneFootball

Olympique de Marseille have opened discussions with Chelsea FC target Filip Jörgensen (22) as they look to replace Pau López (29). It is no secret that Marseille are in the market for a new goalkeeper with López linked to a move to Como 1907, while Les Phocéens in turn have been linked to both Brice Samba (30) of RC Lens and Illan Meslier (24) of Leeds United.

According to La Provence, Marseille have made contact with both Villarreal and Jörgensen as they hope to secure the Danish U21 international’s signature. However, this transfer looks far from simple as Jörgensen recently signed a new contract until 2029 and has a release clause of €45 million.

Marseille aware price for Filip Jörgensen could increase

Marseille are waiting to hear back on what price their Spanish counterparts would be willing to accept, but they will be aware that time is of the essence, and that the price could rise if other club’s interest in the Danish U21 becomes a little more concrete.
