RMC Sport report this afternoon that Marseille have reached a complete agreement with free agent Cédric Bakambu to bring in the striker this month.

The DR Congo international will sign a two and a half year deal with the Ligue 1 club, with his medical said to be “soon” and his contract to be signed today or tomorrow, according to sources close to the transfer.

OM will be able to register the former Sochaux man’s arrival thanks to the wages freed up by departure of Jordan Amavi on loan to Nice, as the club’s finances are being monitored by French football’s financial watchdog, the DNCG.

Marseille’s other incoming transfers this window, notably Sead Kolašinac from Arsenal, are dependent on other players leaving. The likeliest to happen first is Darío Benedetto’s move to Boca Juniors, with the forward’s return to Argentina reportedly on track to happen, pending final details to be resolved.
