Marseille are pushing to sign Sheffield United forward and Senegal international Iliman Ndiaye (23), according to a report from Foot Mercato. Talks have already taken place between the involved parties.

Ndiaye has reportedly also caught the eye of several Premier League outfits after a prolific return last season with the Blades. The Senegal international has logged 14 goals and 11 assists in 46 Championship games, and was instrumental in helping Sheffield United achieve promotion to the Premier League, courtesy of their second place finish. The 23-year-old is tied with the Blades on a contract set to expire in 2024.

Ndiaye is reportedly very keen on the idea of joining the Marcelino-led Marseille side. Simply put, the Senegal international is a big fan of Les Phocéens. When he was 12, Ndiaye spent a year at the Marseille academy and has fond memories of his time in the southern club. In an interview with So Foot, Ndiaye had explained that he used to watch every single game Les Phocéens played. Marseille president Pablo Longoria certainly won’t need to waste too much time convincing Ndiaye of a move to his boyhood club.
