One of Ligue 1’s most active clubs during this summer transfer window, Olympique de Marseille are looking to add depth to their midfield and have not given up on Valentin Carboni’s (19) deal, despite Inter Milan’s whopping €30M valuation, reports L’Equipe.

With the signatures of Lilian Brassier (24), Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (28), Mason Greenwood (22), Ismael Koné (22) and Abdoul Meite (22), Marseille have undoubtedly lost no time on this transfer window so far. Les Phocéens are doing their best to have a squad ready for the start of the season, and new manager Roberto de Zerbi is given the financial backing to stick to his main objective, which is to bring Marseille back to the UEFA Champions League. While they are still on the market for a striker and a goalkeeper, les Bleus et Blancs are moving forward for their other targets, including Inter Milan’s Carboni.

The 19-year-old midfielder is coming off a solid season on loan at Monza, where he logged two goals and three assists in 32 games. Marseille are desperate to land the Argentina international, who recently won the Copa America in the USA, but Inter Milan’s asking price is slowing down the deal. According to L’Equipe, the Serie A champions have placed a €30M valuation on their young prospect, whether it is to let him leave on a permanent transfer or on loan with an obligation to buy. The French outlet reveals that Marseille are working on a loan deal with more flexible conditions and multiple clauses to try to convince the Nerazzuri to let Carboni join Ligue 1.
