Speaking to Amazon Prime Video in the build up to Marseille’s opener against Stade de Reims, club president Pablo Longoria spoke on the potential arrival of Inter’s Alexis Sanchez (33). This comes following reports that the Chilean is set to make the switch to Marseille once he has agreed on a contract termination with the Italian side.

When asked about Sanchez, Longoria said the following: “He’s a player we’ve discussed with, he’s a player who completely matches what we want to put in place. It depends on Inter, who are in a unique situation, so you must always respect these other clubs.”

According to RMC Sport the former Arsenal and Barcelona man, who will also have to iron out some personal administrative issues once he is no longer linked with the Nerazzurri, is set to sign a two-year deal with OM.

Sánchez will earn a salary of around €3m in the south of France, with his addition to the wage bill meaning that Marseille hope to sell at least one forward from their options of Arkadiusz Milik, Cédric Bakambu, Bamba Dieng, and (the Colombian) Luis Suárez.
