Olympique de Marseille could deploy a five-man defence against Paris Saint-Germain in Sunday night’s Le Classique at the Parc des Princes.

Jacques Abardonado, who is in interim charge following the departure of Marcelino in midweek, deployed his side in a 4-3-3 formation in an exciting, open 3-3 draw against Ajax in the Europa League on Thursday. However, the interim manager is aware that PSG are a different threat, “a level above” Ajax, according to Abardonado. As a result, Marseille could change their system in order to try and contain the threat.

A five-man defence could be utilised to deal with PSG’s front three, which is set to consist of Kylian Mbappé, Gonçalo Ramos and Ousmane Dembélé. Ismaila Sarr missed the midweek draw in the Netherlands, and he remains sidelined. He will likely be joined by Geoffrey Kondogbia, who has suffered a minor adductor injury. Azzedine Ounahi could take his place.
