Marseille are looking at a busy end to their transfer window, with Les Olympiens still looking for midfield reinforcements whilst they have placed France international Adrien Rabiot (30) on their transfer list. Fabrizio Romano reports that OM have made an approach to Portuguese club Benfica over defensive midfielder Florento Luís (26).

After making his breakthrough in 2022-2023 following a loan spell at AS Monaco and Getafe, the Angolan midfielder has made 111 appearances for the Portuguese outfit – having experienced the UEFA Champions League and even appearing in Portugal’s preliminary 55-man squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Marseille may be turning their attention to the Benfica midfielder after their move for Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos slowed down. Les Olympiens were looking to bring the Spaniard in on a loan-to-buy agreement, but have deemed Real’s asking price currently too high.

OM had placed Rabiot on their transfer list following the Frenchman’s dressing room brawl with England U21 Jonathan Rowe – who has now departed the Provence club for Serie A outfit Bologna.
