According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Olympique de Marseille are looking to hijack Nottingham Forest’s move for out-of-favour Borussia Dortmund forward Giovanni Reyna (21).

L’Équipe first reported Marseille’s interest in the USMNT forward earlier in the transfer window. Reyna, who came through Dortmund’s academy system, has played a peripheral role at the Bundesliga club so far this season, starting just two matches in all competitions. In 13 appearances, Reyna is yet to register a goal or an assist.

It was reported by The Athletic that Nottingham Forest were in talks with Dortmund over a loan deal for Reyna, however, Di Marzio now reports that Marseille are in advanced talks over a move. Despite Ismaïla Sarr and Iliman Ndiaye both signing in the summer, OM’s executives have been looking to further strengthen their forward line this month, and they look to now be closing in on their man.

Marseille are also looking to add a left-back to the squad before the end of the transfer window and have identified Nuno Tavares (23), currently on loan at Nottingham Forest from Arsenal, as their priority target.
