Olympique de Marseille have officially announced that they have reached an agreement in principle with Watford FC and Ismaël Koné (22) for the player to join the club.
Koné is currently in the United States competing with the Canadian national team in the ongoing Copa América, but he will be confirmed as a Marseille player following a medical scheduled for next week.
Marseille were reported to have acted swiftly in targeting the Watford player and convincing him to join the burgeoning project building in La Provence over more lucrative offers from AS Roma and West Ham United.
Koné will likely not be the first or last player to take their first steps through the hallways of La Commanderie with the club reported to be keen to sign ten players as they attempt to move on from a disappointing season that saw their worst league finish since the 2015/16 season.
