Olympique Lyonnais made a last-gasp bid to sign Olympiacos midfielder Mady Camara (26) during the summer window. Whilst those attempts failed, Lyon could return to bid for the Guinean midfielder this January, although this time, they could be rivalled by Olympique de Marseille, according to Foot Mercato.
Lyon already have Stade Rennais duo Baptiste Santamaria and Nemanja Matić on their radar this January, however, other names feature on Les Gones’ shortlist, including Camara. Whilst Olympiacos, who rejected Lyon’s €8m bid in the summer, are open to selling the midfielder, a deal could become difficult for Lyon.
Multiple clubs across Europe are interested in Camara, including local rivals Marseille. Les Phocéens could make a move should they fail in their attempts to lure Inter Milan’s Lucien Agoumé to the Vélodrome. But there is international competition too. According to Foot Mercato, Sevilla, Werder Bremen and Wolfsburg are also interested in Camara, whose contract Olympiacos also still hope to extend.
