Olympique de Marseille have reached an agreement with Angers SCO to sign Moroccan international Azzedine Ounahi from their Ligue 1 Uber Eats rivals.

The two clubs released statements on Saturday to say that “an agreement in principle” had been reached between them for the sale of Ounahi, with media reporting that Marseille would pay an initial €8 million, plus €2 million more in bonuses as well as a percentage of a future sell-on fee.

The 22-year-old midfielder stood out on Morocco’s remarkable run to the semi-finals of the recent World Cup in Qatar and has made 47 top-flight appearances for Angers. He previously played in the third tier for Avranches having been on the books at RC Strasbourg Alsace earlier in his career.
