Mark Lawrenson backs Manchester United to get big win against West Brom

Mark Lawrenson, formerly of Liverpool, is backing Manchester United to pick up a big win over West Brom.

It would mark United’s first home win in the Premier League this season, which proves how inconsistent we’ve been, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could do with some pressure lifted off his shoulders.

Lawrenson thinks that if United can’t win this one, they have big problems in their side… Did someone call Sherlock Holmes?

Giving his thoughts before the game, Lawrenson predicted a 3-0 win in United’s favour via BBC Sport: “Manchester United have not won at home in the Premier League this season but that really has to change on Saturday.

“United had a very good win at Everton last time out but, on top of their collapse against Spurs, they have struggled to break teams down at Old Trafford, notably when they lost to Crystal Palace on the opening weekend of the season.

“I think this is just the way United are at the moment, and the lack of a crowd certainly doesn’t help, but I still expect them to find a way past the Baggies. If they don’t, they have got big problems.”

Although respected journalist Andy Mitten has gone on record saying United have no intention of sacking Solskjaer — amid constant talk about his future prior to the November international break — I do think another defeat later today would put him in real trouble.

United need to get back on track quickly if they’re to reach any of their objectives this season.

West Brom are nothing special and will be there for the taking, with United boasting players like Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford.

Hopefully the latter will be fit after nursing a shoulder injury which kept him out of England’s recent international fixtures.
