Mario Götze has endured a difficult last couple of seasons with Borussia Dortmund but the German international finished this past campaign strong, scoring seven goals and seven assists in 26 Bundesliga appearances.
Götze has endured a myriad of health and injury issues that have held him back from enjoying the success he enjoyed during his first stint in Dortmund.
Several reports in the media have suggested Arsenal want to get their hands on the 27-year-old, however, Götze didn’t appear to be that interested.
“I always hear these rumours, they come up every year,” he explained to Goal and DAZN.
“Everyone has their value and the club has to decide who fits where.”
Last week, Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc claimed that the club wasn’t worried about a potential Arsenal swoop.
“We have heard rumours from England for years,” Zorc told Bild. “As always, we are relaxed.
“Mario Götze has not approached us with a request to move. We are enjoying a good exchange with Mario’s father and his advisor.
“At the beginning of the new season, we will sit down together.”
In 198 career games with the club, Götze has contributed 42 goals and 60 assists.
