Borussia Mönchengladbach have today confirmed that Marcus Thuram (25) is sidelined for the foreseeable future after suffering an adductor strain in the club’s 1-0 defeat against Union Berlin.

According to Kicker, an adductor strain usually sees the player sidelined for around six to eight weeks which means that Thuram will have played his last game for Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Until now, Thuram has had a relatively injury free season and has 22 goal contributions (16 goals, 6 assists) in 30 games across all competitions this season. His 13 goals in the Bundesliga is the Frenchman’s best return.

When Thuram leaves Borussia Mönchengladbach in the summer, he will bring to an end his four-year stay at the Bundesliga club. Since arriving from Guingamp in 2019 for €9m, the France international has scored 44 and created 28 in 132 games across all competitions.
