Marcus Rashford has been voted Manchester United’s player of the month after continuing his impressive goalscoring form in February – his third award in a row after.
United enjoyed a memorable February that saw them complete a comeback over Barcelona to advance to the last-16 of the Europa League.
They then swatted aside Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup final to end their six-year wait for silverware, and Rashford was at the thick of things.
The 25-year-old netted in six consecutive games, including a brace against Leicester City, before grabbing his seventh goal of the month against the Magpies.
The strike took Rashford’s tally to 25 goals this season, and the United academy graduate has also been nominated for the Premier League player of the month award.
Rashford has been United’s best player for a while, but the England International did not win the accolade by a landslide, with Casemiro coming a close second.
The Brazil international, who has been touted as one of the best acquisitions of last summer, has been pivotal to Erik ten Hag’s side, providing stability and cover to the backline.
The former Real Madrid man has also scored some important goals for the Red Devils, with his last coming in the Carabao Cup final last weekend.
United splashed the cash to bring the serial title winner to the Theatre of Dreams despite being in his early thirties, but he has proven excellent value for money.
Fred, who came a distant third in the polls, has also been an important member of Ten Hag’s side, notching two goals and two assists from midfield last month.
His last goal came in the Europa League knockout round tie decider against Barca as his instinctive touch helped his side overcome the Spanish giants.
