With the start of the new Premier League season less than three weeks away, there remains a grade of uncertainty over the fitness of one of their biggest stars. Marcus Rashford played the majority of last season with a shoulder problem and took it with him to this summer’s European Championship.

Earlier this month, it was reported that Rashford had decided to press ahead with plans to have surgery on his shoulder, which could result in the winger missing the first two months of the season.

A new report, per The Telegraph, Rashford is due to have his shoulder assessed against this week, with a view to possibly having surgery on it in the days that follow.

It’s claimed that the 23-year-old is still keen to press ahead with plans to go under the knife and return at full fitness, despite the prospect of possibly not making his season bow until October.

Rashford could also have his foot assessed at the same time, having played with strained ligaments in his ankle since March.
