Just one step remains for Marcus Rashford to become the latest signing for FC Barcelona, with an official announcement the only thing pending.

Indeed, according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, the Manchester United loanee signed his contract with FC Barcelona this afternoon.

However, as per SPORT, Barcelona have yet to release an official statement because they are coordinating the timing with Manchester United, who are currently en route to the USA for their pre-season tour.

The official announcement was initially planned for Monday, but last-minute details caused a delay.

Despite the delay, Rashford trained on Tuesday at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. In the morning session, he did not fully participate in all exercises but was present during tactical briefings.

In the afternoon, he joined some of the drills prepared by the coaching staff. He also had the opportunity to meet his new teammates, with whom he will share the dressing room throughout the season.

Rashford arrives at Barcelona on a loan deal with a €30 million purchase option. The club will pay his full salary, which has been significantly reduced to help facilitate the move for all parties involved.

Both the player and the club intend for the agreement to extend beyond this season, but that will depend entirely on Rashford’s performances.

The forward is fully aware of the expectations and is determined to regain his best form, even going as far as to reduce his wages in order to make the move to Barcelona possible.

In any case, the deal represents very little risk for Barcelona. If things do not go as expected and Rashford underperforms or struggles to adapt, the only cost to the club would be his salary (€14 million gross after the reduction).

If the move proves successful, Barcelona would secure a top-level attacker for just €30 million.
