Marcus Rashford scored his 100th goal for Manchester United last Sunday.
The Englishman’s bullet header from Christian Eriksen’s wonderful cross was enough to secure a precious 1-0 victory over West Ham United at Old Trafford.
Rashford’s strike against the Hammers was his seventh across all competitions in 2022/23 and the fourth he’s scored in the Premier League.
The 25-year-old is starting to rediscover his best form under Erik ten Hag after what was a hugely disappointing season last time out.
In 2021/22, Rashford scored just five times in 32 appearances, a woeful return for a player with his undoubted talent.
But now he appears to have confidence oozing through his veins once again, which is a huge boost for both United and England.
In the wake of Rashford’s heroics against West Ham – where he was named Man of the Match for his efforts – footage of the striker going full FIFA Street in a past warm-up has gone viral on social media.
During the short video clip, the United man produces skills worthy of the great Ronaldinho or Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar.
He even managed to perform back-heel kick ups, a move that would end in disaster if a mere mortal attempted to pull them off.
Check out the footage in all of its glory…
He’s certainly a baller is Marcus.
Even though all high-profile professionals are more than capable of pulling off garish skills in a warm-up, the above video of Rashford is still pretty darn special.
However, we highly doubt the England international will bring out his back-heel kicks ups in an actual match.
If he does and executes them to perfection, football Twitter will likely have something close to a meltdown.
Rashford’s recent performances have resulted in many debating whether he should now be part of Gareth Southgate’s plans for the Qatar World Cup.
In the case of Jermaine Jenas, he’s now pondering whether Rashford should be in the frame for a starting berth against Iran on November 21st.
Jenas said in his BBC Sport column: “In the past few weeks, I had already gone from thinking that Marcus Rashford shouldn’t be at the World Cup to believing he should be on the plane to Qatar.
“But, based on his performance in Manchester United’s win over West Ham, Rashford is more than just a player who 100% has to be in the Three Lions squad.
“Instead, after watching him at Old Trafford on Sunday, England boss Gareth Southgate will be thinking Rashford might have to start their first game in Group B, against Iran on 21 November, on the left of his attack.
“We know how good Rashford is when he is on form, but that was not the case last season. His confidence was knocked so badly that he looked a shell of himself, but he seems to have come back with a new lease of life since the start of this campaign.
“Some credit for that has to go to new United boss Erik ten Hag because he has got Rashford smiling again, and restored his self-belief. It’s a big boost for United, and the timing is perfect for England too.”
